The Scarecrow and me

Several months ago, I created four new headers for this blog. I thought them pretty clever in depicting my life out here in the woods of South Carolina. I have them randomly display at the top of my blog.

This one cracks me up.

From left to right: Sam Dog on his first boat trip on Lake Marion, our first scarecrow, my first try at oystering, and a plate-sized hibiscus. It was a complete accident that I placed a picture of our scarecrow next to the one of me collecting oysters near Folly Beach.

Coinky-dinky, isn’t it? We could be twins.

(And, on a side note, just in case you hadn’t noticed, sometime during the day on April 10, 2012, my blog topped 30k visitors. Woohoo!)

  1. Always love your pictures. They’re like a box of chocolate as you say. The scarecrow was great and definately older. There is a slight similarity around the eyes and mouth.

    • I guess no one but me notices how he and I both have big gloves on and are holding our arms slightly out at our sides and both of us have our left legs slightly bent!

  2. Well, I disagree with Linda. You and the scarecrow look very much alike, only thing I see different is the scarecrow might be a few years older. And, you both scare the heck out of me.

  3. I love that pic of you knee deep in the bog!! I don’t think you look like the scarecrow at all…except, maybe, around the eyes.
