A not-so-scary scarecrow

I was at the periodontist’s office today, perusing a country living type of magazine, while waiting for my turn in the doctor’s chair. I came across an article about autumn decorations and saw a picture of a great scarecrow.

It reminded me of the one Brian and I made for our garden several years ago.

Our scarecrow was not for decoration, but rather to keep the birds and deer and other critters away from our vegetables.

This was my first ever scarecrow and I was excited as we gathered the materials to make him.

He is already not looking like what I envisoned in my mind, but he was still going to be pretty cool!

What can I say? He was big and heavy and not very funky looking in the end.

Not only did he not scare any birds away, most of them liked to use his arms and head as perches!

  1. Really Cindy, you could have done better. Wouldn’t be too difficult. Just put Brian and Sam the Man dog out there. The birds would most certainly fly away when they saw ???????
